The Bayern Munich striker has hinted at extending his deal at the club which will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2016.
Bayern Munich striker, Mario Gomez, has revealed that he could soon sign an extension at the club. He was talking in the wake of his team’s 2-1 win over Hannover on Saturday, March 24, at the Allianz Arena. Gomez scored the second
goal for Bayern that evening after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 had put the team ahead in the 36th minute.
Gomez has been in phenomenal form this season and is closing in on his own record of 28 goals which he scored in the previous campaign. The attacker has lifted Bayern to the second spot this season and nine goals in his past five
outings in all competitions is a clear indication of his quality.
Keeping in mind Gomez’s current form, the Reds bosses are eager to retain him beyond 2013 to which the German has also agreed. The striker admitted his affection for the club and hinted at signing a new deal in the near future.
Gomez confirmed that he feels comfortable playing in Munich and therefore might not require to think hard about his future at the club.
While talking to a local sports website, the former Stuttgart striker further added: "The probability of me renewing my contract is very strong. I feel good."
On the other hand, Gomez’s agent, Uli Ferber also confirmed his client’s desire of extending his stay at the Allianz Arena. He mused that everyone at the club wants the striker to stay beyond 2013 and therefore the extension could
take place sooner rather than later. "We've had excellent discussions with Bayern and they all want an extension. It could happen very soon," Ferber concluded.
Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga with 57 points and possibly could be on their way to a treble this season. They will meet Olympique Marseille in the first-leg of their quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League on
Wednesday, March 28, at the Stade Velodrome.
