Gomez made his move to the Florence based side earlier this week in a move worth €20 million. He missed the start of the season
to injury and spent most of the remaining part of the campaign on the bench.
The former Stuttgart man claimed that he had a brilliant four years at the club and also praised his teammates for the support he has had in his time at the Allianz Arena. He regarded Bayern Munich as the best club in the world and is grateful to the club
for giving him the opportunity to perform at a side which has great tradition.
“Dear fans, it is time to announce that I'll be leaving the club with a weeping and a laughing eye. I would like to thank you fans and of course my team-mates, the staff and all the people at Bayern for the sensational support you gave me. It was a great
time at the best club in the world. I am very grateful for the great experience that I could made here in these four years,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the striker added that he is looking forward to play at Fiorentina from the next season onwards and is delighted with the move. He admitted that it was a decision he had to make for his future.
“Now begins a new chapter for me and I look forward to joining my new club Fiorentina, as well as the city, the country, the language and the culture,” he concluded.
Mario Gomez scored a sensational 113 times in the 174 games in all competitions he played for the Bavarian giants in the four seasons he spent at the Allianz Arena.
