Star Bayern Munich striker, Mario Gomez, has revealed desire of winning silverware after making a bright start this season. He also wished to achieve the same feat with his national side in the upcoming Euro 2012 after going unbeaten throughout the current
year.
Gomez was talking in the wake of his team’s 3-2 loss at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 van Buyten’s double wasn’t enough to save Bayern from the jaws of defeat as the Reds slipped to third spot on the table.
The striker expressed disappointment at his team’s loss and opined that Bayern should have taken the lead after equalising in the 56th minute. He was of the view that the Reds were below par, especially during first half, allowing the O-Fives
to take early advantage.
When asked about his team’s chances this season, Gomez expressed that Bayern should at least win domestic silverware after making a bright start to the 2011/12 campaign. He admitted to his team’s recent slump in form but was still confident of regaining
their lost crown.
He stated that the whole team is disappointed with Sunday’s loss, and Bayern would definitely make a strong comeback against Werder Bremen next week.
The player also wished to win next year’s Euro with his country, especially after having an outstanding year of international football.
Gomez scored seven goals for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 in the Champions League and vowed to win silverware at both domestic and international
level.
While talking during a press conference, the 26-year-old further enthused:
“Things can always go better. It's definitely a good time for me both for my club and the national team, but as I've said often enough, at the end of the day it means nothing for me or my teams unless we win trophies.
"Both with Bayern and the national side, we have an opportunity to be successful and win trophies, and that's the target. But it's no good playing brilliantly in October and November, and me scoring plenty of goals, but ending up down in the mouth in May
and June because we don't win any trophies.”
