The Bayern Munich striker has vowed to lead his side to a win in each of their remaining five games in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich striker, Mario Gomez, has expressed his desire to lift this season’s Bundesliga crown by winning the remaining five games in the competitions. He was talking in the wake of his side’s 2-1 win over FC Augsburg on Saturday,
April 7, at the Allianz Arena. Gomez scored both goals for his side to take his season’s tally to 25.
The attacker insisted that Bayern would need to win each of their remaining games in order to regain supremacy in the Bundesliga. He urged his side to maintain concentration and not to relax especially with their mid-week fixture
against Borussia Dortmund.
While talking to official club website, the last season’s Golden Boot winner further added:
"We have five tough games ahead of us in the Bundesliga, but we want to win them all. We need to get away from this idea that we’ll play every other team off the park. There are no easy wins at this stage.”
The striker mused that Bayern were below par at the weekend against Jos Luhukay’s men. He stressed on the importance of continuing to win games and insisted that a victory at Signal Iduna Park is vital.
Gomez specified that Bayern found it extremely hard to beat Augsburg despite them being one of the relegation contenders this season and therefore wants each individual to be focussed in the remaining course of the campaign.
"Augsburg were on a run and haven't lost for six matches. Given where they are in the table, they played truly impressive football, and we struggled. At the end of the day, we've won, and that's the most important thing," the striker
concluded.
Bayern are currently three points adrift of their next league opponents, Borussia Dortmund, and a win at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday, April 11, will bring them level on points with the Borussians.
The Munich giants will also take on the Black Yellows next month when the teams meet for the final of the German Cup on May 12 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.
