The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has insisted that he and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 next season.
The Japanese international made his move to Manchester United earlier this summer for an undisclosed fee. The midfielder had a stunning season with Borussia Dortmund last term as he secured a domestic double- the Bundesliga and
the German Cup- and scored an impressive 13 times in the league.
Kagawa’s former teammate Mario Gotze admits that the departure of the Japanese international is a huge loss for his side, but is confident that there are quality players to can fill the gap. The attacking midfielder stated that
there are many players who can play in that position and score goals as Kagawa did in the last two seasons.
Gotze insists that the Borussians have great depth in their squad and admits that it should not take much time for another player to fill in Kagawa’s boots.
“There is no question that he [Kagawa] is a really good player. But I believe that we, as a team, have the players to compensate for his departure,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international stressed that he and new signing Marco Reus can play in the position in which Kagawa played. He claimed that Reus has shown last season with Borussia Monchengladbach that he can score plenty of important
goals and how dangerous he can be in front of the goal. The player is confident that there are individuals who can take responsibility and is looking forward to the new campaign.
“It is true that I personally prefer to play as a No.10, because I've played there in my youth, but we have Marco Reus and other really good players that can play in that position,” the German international concluded.
Mario Gotze suffered a groin injury which kept him out for most of the previous campaign, but the player is fully fit and is eager to return to first team football. The midfielder played 17 times in the league last term, scoring
six goals in return helping his side to win the Bundesliga and the German Cup, a historic double.
