The German international’s representative has brushed aside rumours that the player will be moving to Manchester United in the summer.
The Borussia Dortmund has been widely linked to a host of clubs in the last few months and it had been reported in an English newspaper that Manchester United have contacted the player’s agent and have enquired for a possible transfer
at the end of the season.
The source claimed that the Red Devils want the young midfielder as a replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394, who is set to retire at the end of the current campaign. The English champions have faced problems in the midfield which was one
reason the veteran had to return from retirement.
However, Sports Total, the company that represents the midfielder, has claimed that the reports are false and Manchester United have had no contact with any of the agents. The agency’s Managing Director, Volker Struth, added that
the English side has no contact with Dirk Hebel, as reported three days back.
Struth claimed that Gotze will definitely play in the Bundesliga next year and admitted that the player has no intention to leave his current side for the English Premier League. He remained hopeful that the midfielder achieves
full fitness and returns to the playing regular football.
“The reports from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 are not true. This newspaper has not talked with my colleague, Dirk Hebel. The most important thing now is for Mario to get fit again. When it all boils down to it, he will play next season with Borussia,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Dortmund Sporting Director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Zorc, claimed that Gotze has already agreed to stay at the club and wants to contribute to the club’s success in the future. He insisted that the player will certainly honour
his contract and has no intentions of leaving any time soon.
“We have all agreed that he will play next season in Dortmund,” he concluded.
Mario Gotze’s current contract with the reigning German champions will end in the summer of 2014. The midfielder was heavily linked to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Manchester United in the January transfer window this year but in the end it was
all speculation.
