The German international has started training again and could return before Borussia Dortmund’s clash against Bayern Munich next month.
Mario Gotze suffered a hip injury in January and was sidelined for 2-4 weeks initially. The player underwent surgery and has been away from regular training for two months now. However, the midfielder started light training on
Monday and is on his way to a steady recover.
The player was earlier tipped for a return on March 10 in the game against FC Augsburg but is still recovering from the stress fracture to the pubic bone. It is reported that the midfielder could return in the game against Bayern
Munich on April 11.
Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp claimed that the youngster still needs time to recover from the injury but admitted that the return in well on the cards. The boss stated that the medical team is assessing the progress and a return
date could be decided in a week’s time.
The tactician revealed that Gotze will have to prove his fitness to mark a return to the first team and for that he will need at least two weeks of training with the first team squad.
“We still have to keep an eye on the way Mario's body reacts to stress on a day-by-day basis. At the end of this week we would like to have a more accurate picture. Before he can take any part he would need at least 10-14 days
of full training,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

“It is my hope that Mario is available for the last five or six games which will help even more,” he concluded.
