Bayern Munich bound midfielder, Maria Gotze, is confident of securing the UEFA Champions League title and is hopeful of being fit in time. The Borussia Dortmund playmaker has claimed that he is looking forward
to win the UEFA Champions League with his current club. The Borussians will face Bayern Munich in the final of the competition on Saturday, May 25, at the Wembley Stadium in London. Dortmund downed Real Madrid in the semi-final whereas Bayern Munich emerged
victorious over Barcelona at the same stage.
It was announced last month that Gotze would join Bayern Munich at the start of the next season as the Bavarian giants triggered the midfielder €37 million buy-out clause. Gotze will play against his next club
in the final of the competition but is still hopeful of winning Europe’s premier club competition.
The young midfielder claimed that it would be a dream for him to win the Champions League in the last game he plays for Dortmund, a club that has helped him grow immensely as a player. He is desperate to be fit
in time for the final and is confident of playing in the most important game of the season.
“A win in the Champions League final in my last game for Borussia Dortmund would be the absolute maximum for me. I am desperate to be match fit in time for the match in London and I will give my all for BVB.
I want to help the team bring home the trophy,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The player stated that he is working hard to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered in the second-leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.
“I am feeling well. I am feeling a lot better than before. I will do everything to be ready for the game at Wembley,” the midfielder concluded.
