Mario Gotze’s agent confirms of the player’s stay at Signal Iduna Park until 2014 - Bundesliga News
Mario Gotze’s agent Volker Struth has revealed his client’s plans of honouring his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2014. Gotze had previously expressed desire of leaving the club at the end of this season.
The agent was talking ahead of Dortmund’s upcoming league game against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday. He claimed of the player’s stay at Signal Iduna Park despite Gotze’s own desire of leaving Jurgen Klopp’s outfit.
Struth told that his client never stressed on leaving the club this summer but he might consider moving abroad at the end of his current deal. The agent admitted about an interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United and the gifted attacker is likely
to make a move to any one of the two outfits.
Gotze has been deployed at Signal Iduna Park since his youth days and has three years left on his current contract.
Vloker, while talking to Der Spiegel, further enthused, "Mario's statements refer to the distant future. For us it means that when he eventually does move, he will only go to a club who play in the Champions League. We will have no talks [with other clubs].
Mario has a contract until 2014 and wants to honour it. There are no discussions with other clubs, not even with Bayern Munich."
Gotze’s comments about his future at the club took Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke by surprise as he never expected the youngster to come up with such statement.
Watzke concluded by saying, "We always had the impression that Mario was happy with us. If that might no longer be the case by 2012, we will have to talk. We will talk with Mario to find out if there is a change in his attitude."
The teenager has so far eight goals under his belt for the Black Yellows since making his debut for the senior side in 2009. Gotze has since then appeared in 46 Bundesliga appearances.
So far this season, the player has two goal to his name to go along with his one assist from seven league games.
