Mario Gotze not leaving Borussia Dortmund, claims club’s director of sports - Bundesliga News
Borussia Dortmund director of sports, Michael Zorc, has denied reports that Mario Gotze would be leave the club amidst serious interest from Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Zorc also requested the media personnel to stop linking Gotze with other clubs as it affects
the player's performance.
The director was talking after Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, November 22. This defeat has left Dortmund with an uphill task of beating Marseille by at least a four-goal margin and then hope that Arsenal beat Olympiacos
in their last group F game.
As both teams were busy fighting for a place in the next round, Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger had one eye fixed on the German attacker. Unfortunately, the manager couldn’t make proper note of the player’s progress as he was forced off the field in the 29th
minute due to a knee injury.
Arsenal have been showing interest in the teenager since the start of this season and plans to recruit him at the end of this campaign. It is believed that the Emirates outfit are in process of preparing an official bid for the youngster and would come up
with their offer by the end of this term.
However, the club’s sporting director has assured that the youngster won’t be leaving at the end of this campaign. He denied all claims linking the teenager with big name clubs like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Bayern Munich or Manchester United.
Zorc also demanded an end to the player’s transfer speculation, advising the media personnel to try looking for a new story and let Gotze concentrate.
While talking to reporters on this issue, the director further added:
"I am 99% sure Mario Gotze will play next season at Borussia Dortmund. It surprises me how much ignorance big parts of the media show in the way they handle this subject. “
"All the relevant people on this topic - the player, his family, the player's agent and not least us as a club have all said clearly: There will be no transfer for Mario Gotze. Now you can throw the topic in a heavy chest and let cobwebs grow on it." http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261
Zorc concluded.
