Mario Kart Wii Troubles?

Ever since I have gotten Mario Kart Wii, I have always had one problem: How do u grind? The manual says B on the Wii mote so when i turn, i press B and nothing happens. It says B or R on the Gamecube remote so I try both and both don't work. What do I do? I want to grind. xD

The first thing you want to do is see if your race is set up correctly. After choosing your character and kart, choose "Manual" instead of "Automatic" when the game tells you to choose your drifting mode. If you choose Manual, then yes, B on the Wiimote will cause you to drift. If it still does not work, try pressing B a little earlier in your turn or something. Timing is important.

U have to be turning when u press it.  And its drifting not grinding
