The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international’s agent revealed that the striker will be moving to Bayern Munich.
The striker was an integral part of the Croatian side that failed to qualify for the last eight of the 2012 European Champions. Despite their impressive performances, Slaven Bilic’s side failed to progress to the next stage.
The Croats were neutrals’ favourites to progress to the next round at the expense of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 and Italy in their Group C matches but failed to record a win against them. Despite their failure to qualify
for the next round they had a lot of positives to take from the tournament.
The performances of some of their players were outstanding. Mario Mandzukic is one of those Croatian players who shined at the 2012 European Championships. He was the Blazers’ top scorer with three goals in three games.
The striker’s performance certainly put him into the spotlight and was being chased by several European giants. Mandzukic who signed for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 from Dinamo Zagreb in 2010 for a fee reported to be around 7 million Euros,
was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
The Wolfsburg man’s agent Cvjetkovic, revealed this morning that his client will be a Bayern Munich player in a few days. The striker will be offered a four-year deal, and the fee is reported to be around 13 million Euros.
"We are very glad that the transfer worked, this is the right step for Mario. We have done everything right. After two years at Wolfsburg, this is the next logical step in Mario's career," Cvjetkovic is quoted as saying in an interview.
Both the buying and selling club have not announced anything regarding the transfer as of yet. There have been reports circulating that the Bavarian giants have fend off interest from Juventus and several others clubs to sign their
man.
If the reports are true then Bayern have got themselves a gem of a striker. The Croatian’s has a strong physical presence, which makes him a real threat in the air; he is also a clinical finisher as witnessed in the 2012 European
Championships. The striker is thought to be bought to provide cover for Mario Gomez.
