Mario Manningham still interested in playing for New York Giants, but on his own terms – NFL News
New York Giants’ wide receiver, Mario Manningham, has once again reiterated that he wants to continue playing for the team in the seasons to come, but at the same time, he once again highlighted the salary cap issue he is facing.
Manningham started his professional National Football League (NFL) career after joining hands with Giants in 2008.
He signed a four-year contract, which is now over and he is expected to hit free agency next week if a new contract is not given.
Giants have not yet spoken anything in this matter yet, but they would certainly prefer having Manningham back in the side.
However, Manningham wants a new long-term deal, which will guarantee him more monetary benefits.
Manningham played a crucial role in the team’s victory in the Super Bowl XLVI matchup against New England Patriots.
When Giants were trailing, Manningham caught a spectacular pass during the drive that would go on to become the final scoring drive of the game.
After the Super Bowl, Manningham had expressed his desire to stay with the franchise, but demanded an increased salary.
He also went on to say that http://www.senore.com/New-York-Giants-wide-receiver,-Mario-Manningham,-could-leave-the-team-NFL-News-Update-a132186Later, he http://www.senore.com/New-York-Giants-Mario-Manningham-Report-regarding-moving-to-Tampa-Bay-Buccaneers-is-just-a-rumour-a133069and said that there was 50 per cent chance of him leaving the team. Different reports also suggested that he might move to Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now he has once again said that he wants to stay with Giants, but did not back off from his demands.
He said:
“I don’t wanna go nowhere but if it’s somewhere else, that’s’ where my path continues. I want to be here. I feel like we can do a lot of damage in these next four, five years. That’s just how I feel, because we’re all young.”
He added:
“It’s not up to me, I want to stay. (But) it’s a business too. You’ve got to look at it like that, too. It’s a business.  That’s how it is.  You got to look out for your family, that’s how it is.”
By the looks of the things, Manningham might hit the free agency and find many potential suitors, but as long as official word does not come, nothing can be said with absolute certainty.
