The cantera product also took out time for the increased competition in Atletico Madrid dressing room for a starting berth in the centre of the pitch. Suarez was off the opinion that competition is great for everyone as it fosters greater intensity and desire
to impress the gaffer.
"Last year I could not do a pre-season because of my pelvic operation, but this time around I have worked myself to a standstill from day one and I'm noticing a very positive improvement. I have no pain and I can train really hard," he stated.
"And I've always said that a lot of competition for one place is good for the team and for everyone concerned because it makes you work with more intensity.”
"So, competition does not bother me at all because it makes you better."
The summer saw Atletico Madrid youth academy graduate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 U-19 side in their respective age competition.
Mario Suarez was full of praise for the youngster who has a quality to behold. However, he opined that Torres should not be blooded into the first team from the get go and the process should be gradually completed.
