The Diavolo defender has reiterated that he is concentrating on the club’s effort of winning the Scudetto, and stated that the contract would be dealt with
later on.
Yepes has confirmed that he would not be getting distracted by contract talks till the Rossoneri’s season ends, especially given that they are in pursuit of retaining the
Scudetto.
The former Chievo stopper joins a host of players whose contracts will be running out in the summers, and there are suggestions that the club would not be giving an extension
to the defender.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Yepes-c24052 was talking to the Milan Channel and in his interview he was quoted to have said that he would be concentrating his efforts on the club’s goal of landing the
Scudetto. He further stated that he is extremely happy at Milan and is always proactive to perform to the best of his abilities.
He was quoted to have said:
“We’ll firstly think about winning the
Scudetto and then I’ll meet with the club to decide what happens next. I’m very happy here and I look to take advantage of every training session and game by giving my maximum.”
The Colombian is in the twilight of his career and it seems unlikely that the Milanello would be offering him another contract. He has been a fringe player for the Rossoneri
and has been used sparingly by Diavolo head coach, Massimiliano Allegri. The former Paris Saint-Germain defender has played in only 11 matches in all competitions, of which seven have come in the Serie A.
AC Milan recently gave away their lead at the top of the table, with a few slip ups in the Serie A, and Juventus capitalised on their misfortune by not losing any points
during the period. Juventus now hold a slender one point lead at the top of the table with 32 matches in the Serie A left.
The Rossoneri defender was talking about Juventus and the matches left in the tournament and said:
“We always play to win here. You have to have a winning mentality to be a part of this team. We have to try and win the remaining games and hope that
Juventus drop a few points. If they win the six matches left then we’ll take our hats off to them.”
Milan would be taking on Bologna in their week 34th fixture of the Serie A.
