  1. no, they are not the exact same game, they each have different tracks and and the game play is entirely different from playing on the wii wheel vs the controll pad.

You should keep both of them, I dont think it is a waste. But I think you should also ask your daughter because if she doesnt know that they are different she might get mad that you bought her two mario karts

EDIT: answerer number one copied part of my answer by editing it! and who gave me a low rating!

  2. They have both different features, so i'll suggest to keep both. However, there are 2-3 tracks that are on ds and also on wii like the delfino square.

If you have both consoles, why not have both games. I have a mario kart game for every nintendo console i have, game boy, ds, and wii.

  3. I have them both and they have different tracks, different playable characters, and different carts.

    The DS version has Missions.

    The Wii doesn't.

In the Wii version you can drive bikes.

    The DS you can't.

Also, it is a much different experience playing on the Wii wheel vs playing on the DS control pad.

    + Many, MANY other differences.

They are nothing alike besides both being racing games between Nintendo characters. ^_^

I'd keep them both as their both great fun but if you still want to take one back I'd suggest taking the DS version back as the Wii version has a lot more to play with than the DS version. + it has a MUCH better multiplayer.

  4. Mario Kart Wii is better.I own the two games but the two of them are different. It's your choice to keep the two of them. I'd keep both for the moment.
