Marion Bartoli rejected for London Olympics 2012 - Tennis News
French number one, Marion Bartoli, is ranked 10th on the WTA Premier Rankings list but she has been rejected to be part of the coveted Olympic Games in London this month. She refused to play for the Fed Cup for the past
two years; insisting to allow her father to be her coach.
The 27-year-old Frenchwoman believes that she is an excellent competitor for the Olympics however, she feels that the decision taken by the authorities is unfair to her.
"I have a good chance to play the Olympics in my garden. For the real Olympics it is not looking good, it is hopeless. I have tried to explain to them a million times and they come out with the same answer. It's like speaking to
a wall and there's nothing I can do."
The French Sports Minister, David Douillet, makes no exception to the rule. He stated that Bartoli was not eligible for the Olympics as she refused to play for the Fed Cup twice.
Bartoli is determined to sign inn for a “full-size war” in opposition to the French Tennis Federation rules.
“For 15 years I have not been saying anything, but after the Olympics it’s going to be the start of a really big war, trust me.”
Bartoli will surely have a tough time watching the match while sitting home but she is very much her parent’s daughter. It is very unlike of a pro athlete of her age to act this stubborn, just because she is comfortable around
her father being a coach. She needs to understand FFT’s strictly policy of “no personal coaches” for Fed Cups. Her obstinate behaviour has proved to be extremely taxing, stripping her off the entitlement to play the grandest event in the world of sports in
London.
The 27-year-old is by far the best female tennis player from France. Despite of Bartoli’s front thigh injury, she played as the finalist at Carlsbad tournament.  Bartoli is highly determined to achieve the way she plans it and
this time her game plan bounced back.
"I feel I don't have to change my mind because what I'm asking is not impossible. I don’t see the point of why I should change my mind”.
Keeping the spirit of achievement Bartoli believes, that by not playing at the Olympics, that she will get a chance to gear up for her future. She is an extremely honest person but sometime speaking your heart out in public can
result in painting you in great controversy.
