Marions Bond, sent at 4 to 1, stands first in 480m Grade A1 heat at Perry Barr on Jan 15
While, River Hawk displayed a dismal show, Marions Bond performed superbly, grabbing first position in a Grade A1 heat at Perry Barr on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
With the prize of £97, the 480 metre long race started off at 12:32pm. It was a high profile competition, as every single hound was holding a good starting price.
Outclassing all other contestants, Marions Bond, the daughter of Bond out of Rachaels Hope, clinched the top place, covering the area in 28.65 seconds.
The black b***h was sent on the track with the winning chances of 4 to 1, breaking from third stall.
The trainer, M.S. James was delighted with Marions Bond’s 1 1/4-length win, as she seized the numero uno status in the race, despite not being the favourite.
The second position was secured by Farloe Dasher, trained by C. Weatherall.
The black hound, the son of Razldazl Billy out of Farloe Reserve, stepped on the track with the winning probability of 3 to 1.
He gave an all out effort, but failed to challenge Marions Bond’s early pace, taking 28.75 seconds to reach the post.
River Hawk, the favourite contestant with the odds of 2 to 1, was expected to end up at least among the top-3.
However, he was kicked down to number four position by, Barracuda Frank, who finished third on the chart, covering the distance in 28.89 seconds.
The black dog, the son of Head Bound out of Holston River, locked the slot by a margin of 3/4 of a length.
P M Holland’s trainee was given odds of 5 to 1, as he commenced the proceedings from the second stand.
Failing to produce any wonderful stuff, River Hawk, the son of Westmead Hawk out of River Splendor, crossed the line in 28.95 seconds.
He was followed by Curryhills Aido in fifth and Holdem Angel in sixth, respectively.
Curryhills Aido’s odds were 5 to 1, whereas the latter was sent off with the starting price of 3 to 1.
The fifth positioned dog, the son of Crash out of Howleys Pride, made it to the post in 29.11 seconds, defeating the back marker by half a length.
Holdem Angel, winded up the party in 29.15 seconds. Throughout the race, he was never in a position to defy any of the participants.
Whelped in November 2007, the experienced Marions Bond is in a good rhythm at the moment.
