ICC umpire Mark Benson has retired from international umpiring, three months before his contract expires. He’ll now take up a role with the ECB. Benson, remember, flew home early from the Test between Australia and West Indies at the Adelaide Oval in late 2009 amid rumblings he was dissatisfied with the new umpire decision review system. He later released a statement saying he left due to health reasons.
