Gillespie made his first appearance in three years in the home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 earlier in the year and impressed by remaining his side’s leading wicket-taker with 11. His still however, missed out on a national team contract with the management looking for the future but was included in the Test squad which was due to contest the Windies.
He was considered a key member, alongside another veteran http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CS-Martin-c1295, but a persistent ankle pain has cut short his involvement with the national side. The Kiwis are currently in Caribbean where they will battle the hosts in five ODI matches, starting from July 5.
Following the conclusion of the series both sides will than clash in two longer version games, the first of which will be played at Antigua from July 25. Gillespie’s forced exclusion will be a worrisome sign for the visitors, who already are suffering from injuries to key personnel.
The recently concluded T20 series, which the Black Caps lost by 2-0 at Florida, saw skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JDP-Oram-c1681, who is only a part of the limited-over setup, is nursing a knee problem.
