Mark Greatbatch slams New Zealand performance in Bangladesh
New Zealand's cricket coach Mark Greatbatch has slammed the New Zealand cricketers for their abysmal performance in Bangladesh. Greatbatch lambasted the Kiwi batting by saying that some o fthem were not
good enough to be playing at the highest level.
New Zealand had gone into the five match ODI series with captain Daniel Vettori claiming that they had the potential to beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 5-0, and instead went down 0-4 (one game was cancelled due to rain).
Speaking to LiveSPORT, Greatbatch said that given the performance of the side in Bangladesh, the players need to take in on their chin. He also added that despite been devastating, they had been provided
with the opportunity to correct their mistakes.
He said, "It's very devastating. We played like dicks really and I suppose there's one positive thing, we've got a chance next week to actually put it right.”
Greatbatch also enumerated three reasons for the poor performances. He said that some of the batsmen were not good while there were some others who thought that they were better than what they actually were.
He added: “We've got to get our mind right and sometimes that requires patience, sometimes it requires being aggressive. What it requires is actually sorting out the cricket smarts and weighing up the
situation that you're playing in and we've got some work to do in all those areas."
New Zealand now takes on India in a three-match Test series that will be played in India. New Zealand has never won a Test series in India in the eight attempts. This time around, with all the Indian players

Given this scenario, a realistic Greatbatch also said that they will be happy to take out two draws from the series. In a bid to change things around, Brendon McCullum will be sent up the order in the Test
match format – something that has not happened earlier.
