Mark Kotsay signs one-year $0.8 million deal with Milwaukee Brewers – MLB News
Although it has not been confirmed, sources are reporting that the Milwaukee Brewers has reached a deal with veteran Mark Kotsay for one-year worth $0.8 million with $0.45 million incentives.
Kotsay is an extremely talented player. He has played for seven different teams throughout his Major League Baseball career. The Brewers are looking to add some depth to their team and the addition of Kotsay will definitely provide them with some talent.
Last season, Kotsay was a part of the Chicago White Sox where he had a good performance. He managed to play 107 games with 327 at-bats and eight home-runs. Kotsay had 32 RBIs with an average of .239.
The Brewers have brought Kotsay in to add some strength to their batting line-up. He is a tremendous player that can also play as out-fielder as it seems that the Brewers are more interested in his batting prowess than his fielding talents.
Kotsay debuted in MLB during 1997 with the Florida Marlins where he managed to play three seasons. He had a career average of .279 with 121 home-runs and 663 RBIs.
Milwaukee is taking a chance with the veteran player as he has suffered from back injuries in the recent past. However, the team is looking for some decent batting performance from him as Spring Training is right around the corner. The team understands the
importance of Spring Training as it gives them the opportunity to get some much needed game time in against some of the top tier teams in MLB.
The Brewers are desperate for a successful regular season with the possibility for a spot in the playoffs. Through offseason moves to strengthen the team, Milwaukee look as if they are focused on bringing in the right players that can make some sort of offensive
difference for the team.
Kotsay will be looking to put in a good batting performance for the Brewers during Spring Training. He understands the importance of playing well during Spring Training to secure a place in the final line-up before the regular season begins.
