Mark Krajcsak prevails over Reuben Phillips in 1st round – London Open 2011
Unseeded Hungarian Mark Krajcsak got rid of unseeded Englishman Reuben Phillips in the first round of the Coronation London Open 2011.
The two rivals took up the challenge during the the PSA World Tour Challenger 15 which is in its fourth year at Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club in London, Great Britain. Unseeded Hungarian took only a few minutes to oust the unseeded
Englishman in straight three sets of 11-5, 11-4, and 11-2.
The first round of the match was commenced by the unseeded Hungarian as he had won the service toss and he was able to smash a few rail shots with a good length and depth. This gave the Hungarian enough time to come back to the
T and hold his serve. Nonetheless, the Hungarian was a better player and secured the opening round with an 11-5 score.
During the second set, the unseeded Englishman was once again unable to perform and as he committed a series of unforced errors, he ended up losing most of his points. Nonetheless, he was able to bag a meagre four points as he
broke his adversary but that was all that he was able to muster in the second set.
On the other hand, the unseeded Hungarian also availed the opportunity and this time he smashed a drive shot with the ball hitting into the back corner which made it impossible for his opponent to dig out. Ultimately he rushed
past his adversary towards the finish line to ultimately clog the second set.
The unseeded Englishman further plummeted into the abyss as this time he was only able to bag a pathetic two points. Mean while, the unseeded Hungarian smashed a few advanced variation shots and he took the lead during the start
of the third set.
This time the Hungarian did not have to put much effort into the game as his opponent had completely given up. Nevertheless, as the Hungarian clogged the third set, he sealed his victory of the set and the match.
He managed to reserve a spot in the quarterfinal of the event where he will be facing second seeded South African Stephen Coppinger.
