Mark Lawrenson believes Luis Suarez can emulate Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool – EPL News
Legendary Liverpool defender, Mark Lawrenson, has compared Luis Suarez to the Kop legend and current manager, Kenny Dalglish, claiming that the Uruguayan striker has all the attributes to become a legend at Anfield.
Suarez was a revelation at the Merseyside club since his arrival from Ajax. The Uruguayan played a huge role in helping Liverpool finish sixth in the Barclays Premier League last season.
Mark has hailed Liverpool’s signing of Suarez and has insisted that the former Ajax attacker has the potential to emulate Dalglish’s success at the Merseyside club.
“Suarez is the big one for me. Suarez might just be the closest to Dalglish.”
Mark has praised Suarez’s attacking abilities and has insisted that the 24-year-old is a world class talent.
“He's got all the ability in the world and a real mean streak. He is a top player,” added Mark.
Suarez scored an amazing goal against Sunderland in which he beat the Black Cats keeper from an absolutely impossible angle to mark one of the most impressive goals in the history of the Premier League. Mark was hugely impressed by Suarez’s effort against
Sunderland and has recalled that Dalglish also used to surprise everyone with such goals.
Mark said, “He's got that little bit of everything and when you see goals like he scored at Sunderland last season.”
The former defender believes that Suarez is a team player and a complete forward, who reads the play very intelligently.
“He's got great ability. He is a real team player.” stated the legendary defender.
Mark compared Suarez to the likes of legendary Argentinean striker, Diego Maradona, and inspirational Manchester City striker, Carlos Tevez. He claimed that the Uruguayan is physically tough just like the mentioned strikers and reckons that the former Ajax
man will be a huge success at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the foreseeable future.
“Players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez found themselves getting booted on a regular basis but were tough and could give it back. Suarez is the same,” Mark concluded.
Luis Suarez scored four goals in 13 matches following his arrival to the English Premier League in the January 2010 transfer window.
