Mark Me Up set to make mark at Cork – Handicap Hurdle Preview
Mark Me Up is all set to make a big mark at Cork racecourse where he is going to participate in the Cit Su Handicap Hurdle on Thursday, March 22.
The P. J. Rothwell-trained bay gelding is enjoying great form at the moment. He will surely show a decent run against his a dozen of competitors including Tirmoyle, Beckwith Star, Sorted, On My Own, Glenbarrow, Trazar, Maid Of Malabar, Scottish Reel, Diamond
Shower, Live Trade, Neighbourly and Ok My Friend.
The high-voltage contest of 2m distance with €5,520 of prize money will commence at 4:15 (GMT).
Mark Me Up has been at the peak of his form for last four months. The veteran horse gained runner-up rank in a race on December 27, 2011. He went on to grab second spot again in the next outing on January 7, 2012.
The talented gelding elegantly clinched top spot in his second last start on February 1. The seven-year-old maverick runner marvellously grabbed third top position in his last start on February 15.
Thus, the brilliant gelding is carrying a lot of confidence and courage which will surely help him thrive in today’s mega marathon. His chances to win are as high as 94 percent.
Out of the hot favourite horse’s competitors, On My Own and Sorted are expected to perform well in the race.
After winning a big race in November 2011, On My Own accomplished a sterling success again on February 19, 2012. The Philip Fenton-trained bay gelding moved forward to finish fifth in his last outing on March 10. Overall, he has won two out of his total
18 starts to date.
On the other hand, Sorted achieved a splendid conquest in December 2011. The trainee of Conor O’Dwyer earned a runner-up rank in a tough contest on February 1, 2012. This bay gelding too has two triumphs to his credit.
In this situation it is predicted that there will be a rip-roaring competition among the above trio in today’s race. Let us see who gains what. Good luck to all the runners.
