Mark Munoz, currently ranked as the third best middleweight in UFC, is ready to make a return to the vicious octagon after recuperating from an elbow injury, against Chris Weidman, the former ROC middleweight champion, in a five-round non-title bout which
will be held on July 11, 2012.
The duo will headline UFC’s fourth official pay-per-view being televised live on Fuel TV. The octagon for UFC on Fuel TV4 will be set up at HP Pavilion situated in San Jose, California. In addition to the above clash, the UFC fans will also witness Joey

Mark recently shared his ambitions regarding his career in UFC and commented that his time to shine has come, adding that with a win over Chris he will prove his naysayers that it is he who deserves the title shot now.
UFC’s middleweight division has been considered from the very inception, as a hefty, powerful division stacked up with belligerents who can nail even the best men. The middleweight division recently witnessed an epic clash between two of its ace men that
is Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen.
Mark who resides at the third spot in UFC rankings thinks that he has what is requisite to become a world champion. During the press conference, Munoz stated, “With a win over Chris Weidman, I'm going to prove that I should have the title shot.”
Also known as ‘The Filipino Wrecking Machine’, Mark has been in a total of 14 mixed martial art bouts. The 34-year-old has nailed six of his opponents by knockout and boasts 12 wins in total.
With such an experienced resume and decent win proficiency, Mark can definitely create problems for the undefeated Chris.
When asked as to how he feels about the injury and whether he will like to collide with the current middleweight champion and his former training partner Anderson Silva, Munoz stated, “I don't think anybody is going to walk into the octagon 100 percent.
But my elbow is definitely better from what it was before. That's a touchy subject. I know how he is with fighting friends and training partners. Being a friend of his, I respect his views. We'll cross that bridge when it comes, but I definitely want to be
a champion. I've never taken the easy road.”
Chris, Mark’s Wednesday night opponent, cannot be taken lightly at all as the 28-year-old ‘All American Hangman’, has collected wins over pretty big names like Demian Maia, Tom Lawlor and others.
