The West Ham United midfielder has admitted that signing a new contract has allowed him to focus solely on playing football, while stressing that his side will not settle for anything less than three points against Southampton next week.
West Ham United midfielder, Mark Noble, recently put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at Upton Park until the summer of 2015.
And the 25-year-old has admitted that he can now fully concentrate on playing good football after signing a contract extension.
“I think I would put my form down to hard work and believing in myself. I have also signed a new contract which has allowed me to get my head down and focus on playing football”, Noble was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The central midfielder, who has been plying his trade at Upton Park since making his professional career debut in the 2004/05 season, went on to express confidence in his side’s abilities.
The Englishman insisted that his side can bag all three points in their next league game against Southampton at Upton Park on October 20 should they play in the same manner they did against Arsenal last weekend.
“We are looking for a win against Southampton in two weeks and there is no reason why we can't get that because our home form has been very good this season. If we play anywhere near the same way we did against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 then we will be a hard team to beat”, Noble added.
Mohamed Diame gave the Hammers 1-0 lead in the 21st minute, but Olivier Giroud’s strike four minutes before the half-time break restored parity.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 made it 1-2 for the Gunners in the 77th minute, while Cazorla put the match to bed seven minutes from time.
Noble insisted that West Ham were unlucky to lose against Arsenal, while expressing confidence about securing a good result in their upcoming home game against Southampton.
“At the end of the day we still played well and we are still on a good run. We have a good points total for where we are in the season and we are looking forward to the next game”, the midfielder concluded.
The Hammers are currently sitting eighth on the league table.
