Mark Reynell and Susie Reynell win Laser 5000 Inland Championship at Rutland Sailing Club
A tremendous sailing display from Mark Reynell and Susie Reynell of Poole Yacht Club secured them top spot at the end of 2011 Laser 5000 Inland Championship, held at the Rutland Sailing Club. After this victory, the pair has made it to the top podium of
Travellers Series standings with 12 points.
Three races commenced on the final day of 2011 Laser 5000 Inland Championships under shifty weather conditions. The second placed Thomas Sauvel and Alistair Farman of Grafham Water Sailing Club had a strong start in the first two races, keeping their chances
alive in the competition. However, they were taken down by Poole Yacht Club at the end of the ultimate day at Rutland Sailing Club.

1. GBR5300, Mark Reynell, Susie Reynell, Poole YC
2. GBR5231, Thomas Sauvel, Alistair Farman, Grafham Water SC
3. GBR5301, Thomas Lambert, Niall Ferguson, Draycote Water SC
4. GBR5233, Taff Owens, Nigel Simms, Army SA, Dale YC
5. GBR5035, Neil Luckett, George Luckett, Felixstowe Ferry SC
Final Travellers Series positions are given below:
1. Mark and Susie Reynell = 12 points
2. Taff Owens and Nigel Simms = 14 points
3. Alistair Kinsman and Paddy Adler = 15 points
4. Thomas Sauval and Alistair Farman = 16 points
5. Mark and Nicky Rushton = 19 points
6. Paul Burns and Ed James = 25 points
6. Ade Bevan-Smith and James Williams = 25 points
6. Alan Moss = 25 points
7. Neil and Ben,George Luckett = 27 points
7. Ben Julian and = 27 points
8. Tom Hill and Alec = 28 points
8. Alan Butler and Ed = 28 points
8. Niall Ferguson and Tom = 28 points
Weather conditions on the final day were quite shifty, yet lower. The breeze remained below 10 knots from the start of the day but gradually increased during the competition. By the time of fourth race, the winds were blowing up to 10 knots over the racing
area which made the race more exciting.
Mark and Susie Reynell extended their overall lead to finish on top of the podium standings. Thomas Sauvel and Alistair Farman finished second ahead of Thomas Lambert and Niall Ferguson of Draycote Water Sailing Club, who ended on third position.
