Mark Selby sets up Judd Trump clash in quarter-final stage of 2012 Six-Red World Championship
Proceedings of the final stages of the 2012 Six-Red World Championship are getting more thrilling and tussling with each game. So far, the quarter-final line-up of the tournament has been finalised after the finish of the second round matches at the Montien
Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The current World Number one, Mark Selby will be up against the winner of the 2012 UK Championship, Compatriot Judd Trump.
Both potters performed brilliantly in the first two rounds of the tournament to book their places in the quarters. The game is definitely going to be one of the toughest matches of the event as both potters are in good shape.
They have just come from China after finishing their run in the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament. Despite the fact that both of them were unable to win the Chinese event, they still managed to make it into the quarters of the event.
Trump was up against the former Asian Snooker Championship winner, Hossein Vafaei Ayouri of Iran in the second round of the 2012 Six-Red World Championships. The clash was an easy win for the Englishman as he cruised into the match victory by an easy score
line of 6-1 putting up his excellent performance at the baize. Ayouri had no chance to capitalise during his run of the game and trashed down quite easily.
On the other hand, Selby faced the former World Snooker Championship winner from Scotland, Graeme Dott in the second round clash after he defeated the former World Snooker Championship winner Ken Doherty of Ireland in the opening round by the score line
of 6-5.
The Selby-Dott clash was an easy victory for the World Number one potter as he was able to beat Dott with a 6-3 score line. The first session of the match was tussling as both cuemen were struggling their best to get a lead. However, Selby succeeded in hitting
an early lead to nudge his opponent down by three frames at 6-3.
Both Selby and Trump will be looking forward to play impressively up to the mark and register wins to book a place in the semi-final encounter.
