Mark Selby wants the Crucible Crown as his wedding gift

The Jester from Leicester, Mark Selby, wants to be the World Champion before he gets married to Vicki Layton, his fiancée, next month in Mexico. According to Selby, winning snooker’s most prestigious
event is going to be the ‘icing on the cake’.
The world number three, Selby, said that he planned everything with Vicki before time so his snooker calendar wouldn't get affected. He also told reporters that he had picked up the wedding ring and
the only thing he wanted now was the Crucible Crown.
Mark Selby, who is the second favourite for this year’s World Championship after John Higgins, revealed that he had practiced a lot this year and hopefully he was going to win the Crucible. The player
claimed that his participation in the German Masters, Welsh Open and the China Open this year had helped him in developing his temperament for Sheffield.
Selby, who reached the final of the 2007 World Championship before losing out to John Higgins, is set to meet the Crucible debutant Jimmy Robertson in his first round match on this Wednesday, April
20.
Selby admitted he had an upper hand in his first match and highlighted Robertson's inexperience playing at the home of snooker, something he thought would favour him. However, at the same time he
also confirmed that he would not be taking the game lightly.
He told the media that his fiancée and her family had helped him a lot and they knew he was looking for his maiden World title, a feat that would be a source of immense happiness for 'the Jester from
Leicester'.
The 27-year-old also revealed his wedding plans. The couple will fly to Cancun on May 24 and there are fifteen family members going with them.
Mark Selby, who should get through the first round easily, will face the seven-time world champion, Stephen Hendry, in the Last-16 of the Championship.
