http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mark-Anthony-Taylor-c74540 challenges aging Indian batting line-up – Cricket News Update
Former Australian skipper, Mark http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915, strongly believes that the old Indian batting greats will face a tough competition when they take on the Aussies in the upcoming 4-Test series, claiming that they have not been tested well recently.
Drawing a line of difference between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, Taylor points out that the former has some in-form but untested hitters, while the latter has well-gauged but off-tracked batters. In his view, there will be a tough fight between the young Kangaroo pacers and the aging Indian batsmen.
Moreover, Tubby avows that the Men in Blue are used to playing on their flat home wickets while the Aussies are well-tuned on grassy tops, predicting that this factor will make a huge difference during the high-voltage event.
Talking to the media today, the ex-captain, who played 104 Test and 113 ODI matches during his international career, said, “They've been great players. I'll be interested to see how they go against this young Australian bowling lineup. I don't feel Sachin (Tendulkar), Rahul (Dravid) and VVS (Laxman) are getting tested as often as say http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 and Mike Hussey have in recent times.”
He further said, “They've been tested on wickets that are more bowler friendly whereas http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 where the wickets are generally flatter, they don't bounce as much and don't move off the seam.”
The 47-year-old has advised his former teammate and the most senior cricketer in the Australian squad, Ricky Ponting, to regain his lost momentum and start scoring runs confidently in this series, as he is not likely to get any further chances.
Ponting has been out-of-form for a couple of years now, not scoring a single ton in this period and often failing to make double figures. The national selectors were determined to drop him for the next event, but he requested for one more chance.
Taylor has also hailed the selection of the young opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Graham-Downton-c44379 Cowan, in the Boxing Day Test squad.
With the series just four days away, both the teams are practicing hard in nets in order to make the event as exciting as possible.
