Former Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mark-Anthony-Taylor-c74540, has praised the debutant Ed Cowan, and has said that even though he is not a typical left-hander; the young man has the potential of achieving success on the big stage.
Cowan earned his baggy green following the exclusion of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, the 29-year-old was pretty impressive in technique and temperament. With the help of seven lovely boundaries,
Cowan made 68 runs before he was controversially dismissed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RD-Shah-c2298 Ashwin.
Taylor feels that despite the fact that Cowan does not have the flair of a "typical left-hander", he is sound enough to be a successful opening batsman at the highest level of the game.
"He is not your typical left-hander, he's not as comfortable working onto the leg-side but looks confident cutting and driving," said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915.

"He did a very good job blunting the new ball. Cowan was very well disciplined, he left a lot more balls than most in the top order in recent times," pointed out the former skipper who is one of the all time great openers with 7525 runs in 104 matches.
