The veteran has sidelined money in order to return to the former club once his contract at AC Milan expires; insists he will not work with Louis van Gaal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148’s agent has revealed that the veteran is ready to lower his wage demands in order to return to his former club PSV.
The Dutchman’s contract at AC Milan is set to expire at the end of the season, and the player may not extend his stay with the Champions after summer.
The midfielder’s agent admitted that the player is keen on rejoining his old love, PSV, despite the fact that the player has the opportunity of attaining higher wages elsewhere. The agent insisted that no deal has yet been finalised
between the concerned parties, although the player is ready to accept the club’s wage ceiling and advance the negotiations.
While talking to De Telegraaf, Raiola said:
"There is still no agreement. But it would not take long. If Mark wanted to move for the money, he would not go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281. We know PSV's wage cap. We know what the top players earn so we know what is possible."
The representative, however, revealed that there are a couple of issues to be resolved before the player’s move to the former club can be finalised. One of the issues is the length of his contract, as the Dutchman is looking for
a one-year deal, and the club wants the star to stay longer.
The other, more serious issue is the appointment of coach Louis van Gaal, which the Dutch star has deemed incompatible with himself. The playmaker has issued an ultimatum to the club that he will irrevocably move away if the particular
coach is appointed at the helm of the Dutch outfit, and has no intention of stepping back from his stance on the matter.
"[PSV technical director] http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-c23507 [Brands] has effectively confirmed the appointment of Louis van Gaal, albeit not in not in so many words. But he knows that a transfer will be taboo for Mark if Van Gaal is coach."
Mark Van Bommel rose and established himself as a star at PSV, during his season stint at the Dutch giant that ended in 2005.
