AC Milan midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148, has revealed his intentions of extending his stay at San Siro for one more season.
The Dutch international’s current deal with Milan expires at the end of the 2011/12 season, and the two parties have not discussed about an extension as yet. Van Bommel has openly expressed his desire to return to PSV before hanging
up his boots, but the playmaker has revealed that he will put the return to Eindhoven on hold in favour of another season with the Rossoneri.
The 34-year-old joined the Italian Champions from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window last season, and has become an important member of the team since then.
Van Bommel revealed that he will open talks over a new deal with the club very soon, and will ask them if he is wanted for the next season. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 star thanked the Diavolo bosses for showing faith in his abilities and signing
him in the twilight of his career.
While talking to the reporters, Van Bommel said:
“I’m happy at Milan and I’ll speak with Vice-President http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani in the near future in order to understand what Milan want,” stated the man netted from Bayern Munich in January 2011. I have to thank Galliani and director
Ariedo Braida for signing me at my age. I’ve always said that I want to end my career at PSV, but I still don’t know when that will happen.”
The midfielder has placed the Scudetto on top of his trophy wish list, as he believes that the league is most difficult to win.
“The Scudetto is at the top of my list because it is the most difficult to win. You play for an entire year for that trophy. The Champions League, even if it may seem more beautiful, is decided in less games.”
Van Bommel has made 46 appearances for Milan so far, but he is yet to score for the Italian Champions.
