Former Australian batsman, Mark Waugh, has sympathised with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 if he is given a
regular run in the team.
The Australian selectors have dropped Khawaja and Phillip while they have picked http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, starting from Decembe 26, 2011.

According to analysts, Khawaja was axed from the squad due to his poor batting performance in the last 2 matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. The 25-year-old scored 81 runs in the tour match this week at Canberra but it was in vain as the selectors had already finalised
the squad.
Waugh feels that Ponting and Hussey have been included in the squad at the expense of  Khawaja due to the experience of the two players.
While speaking to the media today, Waugh said, “I actually feel a bit sorry for Khawaja because he's actually looked pretty good, apart from last Test. Every other innings before that he's looked like a very capable player and I think he's a very good player.
Having said that he just hasn't made the scores as yet. He didn't really take the opportunity by the scruff of the neck.”
Mark has predicted a bright future and a promising career for the Islamabad born batsman, hoping that he will fill the boots of the senior players after their retirement.
He said, “So I feel sorry for him, but you've got to make the most of his opportunities and he hasn't done that. He's got a great future, there's no doubt about that. He'll be back bigger and better pretty shortly.”
Khawaja made his Test debut during the last Ashes series in Australia, at his home ground Sydney. The stylish batsman has played 6 matches so far and has scored just one half century. He was on course to get his maiden ton against India, but could not make
the century.
The tour games were used as a yardstick by the selectors to select the squad, and in that respect Cowan edged over Khawaja, as he made a match winning century in the second fixture and will now be part of the Boxing Day test match.
