Mark Webber: The Air Is Clear In The Red Bull Team

Red Bull’s Mark Webber has finally stated that all the disputes that ignited during the race at Silverstone last weekend had been resolved.
Webber was very disappointed and annoyed with his team at the British Grand Prix for they handed over the new front wing of his car to his teammate Sebastian Vettel, who had his car’s damaged during the practice session before the race. However, at the mid week debriefing session at the team’s Milton Keynes factory, Webber told that the air had been cleared as the team talked about the mater thoroughly.
He further highlighted this week on his official website that the reason behind the team’s decision for replacing the front wing of Vettel’s car with his’ were not clearly explained to him before the race which brought a lot of misunderstanding. However, he said that the matter had been talked over and now he had understood the decision in better way.
He furthermore said that the aggressive attitude that he showed at the track on Sunday was just spilled out due to Saturday’s event when the wing was replaced. He then went on saying that at the end of the day both the teammates want to give their best on the track and could not let anything spoil their performances.
He was happy to express that now he has a better understanding of the situation that teams have to face at times when both their drivers are equally good. He said this is a fact that no team wants to be biased with any of the drivers however, when it comes to the benefit of the team one has to take tough decisions. He mentioned that it has now been mutually understood by all the members of the team for the future as well, that if the team has to take a decision that involves favouring one of the team members, the driver who stands with better points in the Drivers’ Championship would be given favour, as in the previous race it was Vettel.
The Australian driver, who was able to bag victory in the British Grand Prix, said that the incident last week had not hurt his relationship with his team mate or the team Principal Christian Horner rather they have become closer than before if nothing else.
He concluded saying that the team is gelled together once again and are now focused towards the upcoming German Grand Prix as their target is to get to top position from McLaren as soon as possible.
