Mark Webber aims to deliver his best in the season ahead – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that he is aiming to deliver his best in the 2013 Formula 1 season ahead to win the title.
Webber had a huge clash with his teammate, Sebastian Vettel after the Malaysian Grand Prix in which they were both fighting for win. But, the German refused to obey the team order and claimed the victory.
After the incident happened at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, the Australian has been surrounded by many speculations that the Milton Keynes based squad are considering Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus as his replacement for 2014. Furthermore, there are a lot of reports suggesting that the Aussie is going to leave F1 at the end of this season and has already planned to move to WEC Porsche team in the next year.
However, he has completely dismissed all the rumours and asserted that Vettel is an experienced driver and they share good relationship with each other. Besides, he said that they both respect each other and will continue to keep their focus to score competitive points for their team in the forthcoming races.
“Now into its seventh season, my partnership with Red Bull Racing is one of the longest between a driver and a team,” Webber told IANS. “Sebastian and I are a team and we share a great camaraderie.”
“Look, Sebastian is an experienced driver. Besides, we have a common goal as team-mates to make our team proud. We continue to respect each other and will continue to remain focused in wanting to make the team proud,” he said.
In addition, he asserted that his target is to claim as much victories as he can in the season ahead so as to make his position stronger in the championship fight. He also said that he is not going to play any supporting role in this season and will try to deliver his best in the approaching races.
“The goal is always to win. That's what keeps me motivated on the tracks. I will give it my best shot and leave the rest to fate and destiny,” he added.
