Mark Webber feels excited about United States GP – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber is feeling really excited about 2012 United States Grand Prix and believes that Circuit of The Americas will be quite challenging for all the contenders.
Webber said that they need to make some significant preparations in order to understand the layout of the new track in the calendar so as to perform well in this weekend’s race.
Moreover, he said that they are eagerly looking forward to the Friday practice to create firm understanding about the design of the circuit. In addition, he said that the new track in Austin, Texas is one of the most demanding circuits for the drivers. Therefore, he insisted that they really need to push harder to attain competitive result in the forthcoming race.
“We need to see track temperatures and how the asphalt is for the car in terms of grip - we've got a lot of unanswered questions which we only learn on Friday, but the layout looks awesome,” said Webber. “It's probably one of the best layouts of the year in terms of being challenging for the drivers and the cars.”
Besides, he said that he has visited Austin for quite a few times to see his friends, in the past. Additionally, he expressed that he has always cherished his stay in USA and is enthusiastically looking forward to see the love and support of the fans.
“It's a really vibrant city, similar to Melbourne, and I know the locals are going to really embrace it. They obviously have the huge music festivals and they pull those off really well in terms of the organisation and getting everyone around,” he added.
The Australian driver is undoubtedly one of the most competent drivers in this year’s championship fight and is presently standing at fourth place in the standings. Furthermore, he is ahead of Lewis Hamilton of McLaren and is behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus.
Even though, he is no more in the title fight, but he is still targeting to deliver his best in the remaining two grands prix of the ongoing season and is aiming to secure a good position in the championship.
