Mark Webber feels upset by weather conditions at FP2 – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber said that he was upset by the weather conditions during the free practice sessions on Friday at 2012 Australian Grand Prix held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. Nevertheless, he said that he felt positive in the
new car RB8 during the practice sessions.
The Australian driver’s teammate, Sebastian Vettel was quite discontented with the performance of his car during the running on the first day of Australian GP.
However, Webber was not much concerned and said that more dry conditions would have been proven better for the practice but he expressed that he was confident how the car was responding to the varying conditions on track.
Additionally, Webber said that F1 could not control one thing and that is the weather.
“One thing in Formula One we can't control, and that's the weather,” Webber said. “Mother Nature, she doesn't stop and that's the way it is. We got some dry running at the end of the day. I feel confident in the car. I'm driving it, it's not driving me.
Both Sebastian and I are very similar in what we're demanding of the car of the moment, and that's always a good thing. So we'll work hard overnight into getting the most out of the car.”
Red Bull faced some issues during the last day of the final pre-season test held at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona where the defending champions could only be able to complete 23 laps and came last on the timesheets. Nonetheless, they had been considered
as the one of the most favourite contenders for the season ahead while Vettel, double world champion had been the outright favourite for the world’s drivers’ title for the approaching season.
In addition, Webber said that no contender could say that they had achieved their maximum and there might be 30 or 40 percent yet to come from them. He also said that the upcoming season would be very close because of some very good cars developed by the
teams’ relentless efforts.
Furthermore, he believed that the teams still had a lot more to show all over the remaining weekend.
