Mark Webber hopes for better performance from Red Bull at FP3 of Italian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing expects improved performance at the final practice 3 session of the Italian Grand Prix.
Despite of working hard they were not able to achieve their desired results. Webber is not concerned about the threat of Mercedes at Monza and is focussed on their own performance.
The Red Bull driver is not satisfied with the fuel out of RB8, but believes that they have an impressive history to solve such problems over night. He expects that his team would be able to find some solution before the FP3 starts.
He said, “We are working hard, not quite there yet. A little bit more competitive on the long run with the fuel in but we've got a bit of work to do with the fuel out. So, we're normally not Friday world champions so we'll do a bit of work tomorrow ... I
think we generally find a good step on Saturday.”
The Australian driver was rather satisfied with their competitiveness in the long runs. Talking about the competitiveness of Mercedes, he said that he did not focus over their performance and concentrated on their own performance as he believes that they
are just other drivers with different cars. He added that is not threatened by their performance.
“Yeah, but they're not our rivals. There's some other guys, different colour cars - well same colour cars - but I haven't looked at who's quick and who's not, we're just focused on ourselves,” he added.
Webber completed his fastest lap in 1 minute and 26.104 seconds during FP2. His teammate Sebastian Vettel’s lap was only ranked as the 13th fastest of the FP2 session.
Webber was unable to get the most out of his car during the Belgian Grand Prix and could only make it to the 6th position after starting from 12th on the grid.
Let’s see which grid position does the third contender of the championship attains in the qualifying round, scheduled a few hours from now, and how he makes his way during the Italian GP.
