Mark Webber hopes to get full support from Red Bull Racing in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that he is hoping to get full support from his team in the 2013 Formula 1 season and is aiming to fight for the title.
Webber has been deemed as one of the most competent drivers in F1. Even though, he has received a lot of appreciation because of his hard work and devotion towards the sport, however, he has not been able to win a title in his career so far.
The Australian driver performed convincingly well in 2012 and stood amongst one of the most consistent point scorers during the first few races. Furthermore, he was well in the title contention, but unfortunately he faced some technical issues in a couple
of races due to which he lost some crucial points in the championship fight and his hopes to win the title faded.
Nonetheless, he is not feeling disappointed and is positively looking forward to win the championship in this season. Besides, he asserted that he needs full support from his team in this year’s championship.
“Yes I do believe I can have a crack at the championship again this year as I have done in previous seasons,” Webber said. “That's my goal and that's what I'm getting up each day thinking about and working hard with the team on doing that. They know that
I need 100% support; you can't fight for the championships with 90%, you need 100%, and that's what we're going in to 2013 with this in place and I'm comfortable with that.”
In addition, he said that he is not going to play a supporting role in his team in this season and will fight his own battle.
Meanwhile, the team principal of Red Bull, Christian Horner said that they are ready to support both their drivers in this season so as to defend their title.
“Obviously as a team we'll do the very best that we can to support both drivers,” Horner said.
It will be interesting to see how Webber and his teammate, Sebastian Vettel compete with their main rivals in this season.
