Mark Webber might stay at Red Bull for another year despite poor start to 2011 Formula 1 season
According to some recent reports and a statement by Red Bull Racing Team’s technical director Adrian Newey, it has been revealed that Mark Webber’s chances of staying at the team for another year are pretty high now since Adrian stated that he would like
to see the Australian driver with the team for the 2012 season.
It was revealed recently through Newey and the team’s boss Christian Horner that Sebastian Vettel has recently signed an extension for his current contract while Webber’s future still is uncertain.
Mark is on a year-to-year contract with the team and it was believed that the Aussie might have to leave the team by the end of this year especially since reports regarding Lewis Hamilton’s interaction started surfacing.
However, Newey has recently told the media that he is hoping to see Webber with the team for another year and since the technical director is one of the main people behind the team’s success, it is believed that the team might be influenced by this statement.

“I'm hoping Mark continues next season. Apart from being a great person, his contribution has been significant. He's been a pillar of the team from the start. Seb is very perceptive in his feedback in some regards and Mark is very perceptive in other areas,”
said Newey.
Webber has been struggling to close the gap on his teammate, the reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel but the team is hoping for some improvements from the Aussie’s side.
“At the moment he (Vettel) is really on top of his game. It's certainly not a case that Mark has been driving any slower, that's for sure. Mark's just taken a bit longer to adapt to the Pirelli tyres but the gap is closing,” he added.
The team is currently at the top of its game with Vettel specifically dominating the grid upfront with 93 points which is 34 points ahead of his closest rival Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ standings.
