Mark Webber not satisfied after Friday practice at Budapest – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that he is not feeling satisfied after the Friday practice of the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix and emphasised that they need to push harder to achieve competitive results.
Webber came 14th in the timesheets of FP2 and faced difficulties with the setup of his car. Moreover, he expressed that he didn’t feel comfortable behind the wheel of RB8 and couldn’t gather the required amount of data about the car’s updates because of changing weather conditions.
"We got some running in the wet and the dry, but we've got work to do," Webber said. "I'm not super happy with that today, but it's good that it's only Friday.
It will be important to mention that after the German GP, FIA tightened up on issue of Red Bull cars’ engine mapping. Resultantly, the defending champions had to change their engine map.
Although the Aussie said that the new design has not affected the performance of the car. However, he seemed a little upset after the afternoon session and asserted that they need to make some essential improvements in their car so as to come up stronger in the approaching race.
Furthermore, he said that he faced some issue in the balance of the car due to which he could not complete his long run.
"We seem to be going okay in some places, but losing time in others - so we'll go through it tonight. I need to work on the balance. There's no change from the engine mapping amend."
The Australian driver is surely one of the strongest contenders in this year’s championship fight as he has secured two race victories in the season until now.
Additionally, he has been one of the most consistent point scorers in the season so far as he secured impressive fourth place finish in the first four grands prix.
At present, he is standing at second place in the drivers’ championship with 120 points. In addition, he is ahead of his teammate, Sebastian Vettel and is behind Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who is currently leading the standings with 154 points.
Let’s see how he shows up in the upcoming race.
