Mark Webber ready to fight back in 2012 Belgian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that he is aiming to fight back in the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix which will be held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this week.
Webber has faced difficulties in attaining competitive results in the last couple of races. However, he has asserted that he is positively looking forward to bounce back in the race ahead.
Moreover, the Australian driver admired the track of the next race and called it one of the most classic circuits of all time. He also said that they have been planning to come up stronger in the forthcoming race so as to claim victory.
"It's one of the classic tracks where you feel like an F1 car belongs on the circuit," Webber said. "We're looking forward to going there and challenging for the victory."
Furthermore, he said that Spa is the circuit where the abilities of the drivers can be tested while he said that it is one of the most favourite tracks of every driver. In addition, he said that he enjoys a very good affiliation with the track of the approaching
race. Besides, he praised the overall environment and zeal at the circuit of the upcoming race.
"Spa is the best track to have after a break and it's extremely rewarding for drivers at that venue," Webber added. "It's obviously remained pretty much unchanged for some time and it has a lot of character. Eau Rouge is a very special part of the track,
the spectators love going to watch the cars there and I would encourage anyone to see it live once in their lives - it's mind blowing."
The Aussie has been the most consistent scorer in this year’s championship fight until now. He has scored two grands prix victories in the season so far and has been deemed as a competent contender for the title.
At present, he is standing at second place in the driver’s rankings with 124 points. Additionally, he is ahead of his teammate, Sebastian Vettel and is behind the leading driver, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
