Mark Webber says Red Bull need to improve after German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that the team needs to improve in terms of their performance after the German Grand Prix.
Red Bull were outperformed in the Nürburgring race weekend, as both of the drivers were unable to achieve their race victory in Germany.
Webber took a very strong start to the German race weekend, as he finished his Friday Free Practice sessions on the grid in a positive manner. He successfully secured a pole place for Sunday’s race and started the German Grand Prix from the front row on
the grid.
However, after the race ended, the Australian was ten seconds behind McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton, who was the winner of the Nürburgring race. He seemed to make a lot of struggle for his race victory from the start of the race. However, Ferrari driver Fernando
Alonso was quicker than Webber and due to that, he finished his race at the third place for RBR behind Alonso.
After the race, the Red Bull driver mentioned that he is happy with the way he drove during the German Grand Prix held on Sunday, July 24, 2011.
Despite his third place finish at the German racetrack, Webber added that they must take a step forward in order to return to the winning ways in the remainder of the ongoing season.
Talking to the reporters, the 34-year-old driver said, “We know what we have got to improve on and we couldn't give much more than we did today. I'm disappointed not to get a win, we had a good fight around the stops, so it's mixed emotions. You need to
perform at a good level to get these. We keep learning and the progress has been decent but we need to improve.”
He went on to mention, “We don't need to be Einstein to work out we need to work hard. We have to keep being consistent and learning. We have a great factory and reliability is good, so we will keep our head down and press on.”
Let’s see how Webber performs in the next Hungarian Grand Prix following his third place finish in Nürburgring.
