Mark Webber says he needs a race win

Formula one season has just 3 races left in the season, and it was once again the duo of Red Bull who dominated the Japan Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso who had won 2 previous races at Italy and Singapore managed to finish 3rd,
while table topper Mark Webber extended his lead at the top by finishing 2nd.
The Australian driver said that he was happy with the 2nd place finish and retaining the top of the table position, but he will have to win one of the last 3 races if he wants to win the world championship.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was quickest at Suzuka circuit; right from the practice sessions on Friday it was the Austrian who was the quickest. Vettel maintained his pace in the qualifying session which was held on race day and
went on to win the race easily. Vettel is now level on points with Fernando Alonso on 2nd place in the table and trails his team mate Mark Webber by 14 points.
Mark Webber has now not been able to win any of the last 4 races, and he knows that he will have to come up with a win, at least, in last 3 races of the season to win the title. Webber added that he is confident that a win is coming
in the next race. He said that he felt that his car was much improved at Suzuka and with few minor adjustments in next race he will be able to go much quicker.
The results at Suzuka now mean that the top 3 have created a decent gap between themselves and the McLaren duo. Current world champion Jenson Button is on 5th spot with 189 points and trails Webber by 31 points, while
his teammate Lewis Hamilton is on 4th place with 192 points; he is 28 points off the pace. This means that the British pair is more than a win away from reaching the top of the table, as one race win equates to 25 points.
Hamilton has had a torrid time off late, after being knocked out of the Italian and Singapore Grand Prix following collisions with Felipe Massa and Mark Webber respectively. Hamilton was handed a 5 place grid penalty on Saturday
after an illegal gearbox change.
Mark Webber who continues to lead the table looked happy and confident of retaining the top position, and get his maiden world title.  He said that despite the haphazard scenes in last few races, he is happy that the lead is heading
the right way and as long as he keeps accumulating points he has no issues.
"All in all a good day for all of us [at Red Bull] and I am very happy with my position," added Webber.
"Two weeks ago it was Lewis [Hamilton struggling], then it was Fernando [Alonso].
Fernando Alonso who had been in supreme form and was being dubbed as one of the favourites to win in Japan managed 3rd place on the podium. The Spaniard said that he is not worried and believes that he still has a great
chance of winning his 3rd world championship. He had a different view than Webber, the 2 time world champion said that even if he does not manage to win any of the last 3 races, but does manage to finish on the podium he may have a great chance
of winning the championship.
