Mark Webber says he squeezed the best out of his RB7 at Nurburgring to take pole – Formula 1
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber secured his 3rd pole position of the 2011 Formula 1 season recently at the German Grand Prix which is taking place at the legendary Nurburgring circuit after squeezing the best out of his RB7.
Webber claims that the car felt great during the qualifying session of the German Grand Prix and that he was able to get the most out of his car.
“That was my complete limit, it was a pretty good lap. It's very satisfying to see that no one grabs you at the end there as it was an anxious wait those last 30 seconds,” he said.
Mark Webber scored the fastest time of the qualifying session which was just 5 hundredths of a second faster than Lewis Hamilton’s time.
“My form has been getting better and this track has not been too bad for me in the past. I must say this session went pretty well with the exception of first option run in Q2. That wasn't very smooth, but the other two laps were good. The boys did a great
job on the car - there were some late nights in the lead up to here but we got it together in the end,” said Webber.
The start of the race is going to be very exhilarating though as both Webber and Lewis Hamilton have the ability to make good starts. Since the local hero Sebastian Vettel is starting from row two in 3rd place, he is also going to give his all
during the start of the race in order to take the advantage from the beginning.
Other than that, Fernando Alonso is starting from 4th place as a result of which, this upcoming race is going to be very technical as well for the teams since race strategy is going to play a major role.
Since Webber is doing well, it seems that defeating him is not going to be as easy as it seems for Vettel, Alonso or even Hamilton.
