Mark Webber says it is necessary to win the title before the Brazilian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull’s Mark Webber has advised his teammate Sebastian Vettel to assure the F1 title in his name in the upcoming United States Grand Prix.
Webber is worried that there might be weather problems in Brazilian GP which will be the championship finale. Therefore, it is important to close the deal before that.
“Clearly, Austin's a very important weekend because Brazil can throw up some 'funnies',” he said. “There can be a bit of rain around there, so that's a bit more of a nervous venue. I'm not saying it can't rain at Austin, but Brazil can be incredibly inconsistent
with the weather, so that might come into the mix.”
He said that he is not even sure about Austin as the weather can be unpredictable there also but in comparison Brazilian races have always been hindered by weather problems. If they are able to lock the title this weekend then Brazil will not be a problem.
As the season is coming to a close with only two more races to go, the hype about the championship has been ever increasing. Webber thinks it might not end that thrilling after all.
“They may not even see each other on-track - that's the way it turns out sometimes,” said the Australian. “It's a bit like an FA Cup final or the rugby league grand final - sometimes it doesn't live up to the hype.”
Webber himself also wants to close the season on better results. He is looking forward to drive well; in fact, he has been very excited about visiting the city of Austin. He knows that the locals are going to enjoy the event.
Vettel’s rival Fernando Alonso, who belongs to Ferrari, is ten points behind him and if the defending champion wants to keep the title in his name, then he will have to score fifteen more points than Alonso.
Alonso’s teammate, Felipe Massa, also thinks that Red Bull has been stronger. Even though he is not sure about Austin as the track is completely new but it might favour Red bull since it is similar to Korean and Indian tracks.
