Mark Webber sets pace in FP3 of 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has set the fastest time in the third free practice session of 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix held at Hungaroring in Budapest.
Webber struggled with the balance of his car during the Friday practice and came 14th in the timesheets in FP2. Nevertheless, he came back incredibly well in FP3 on soft Pirelli compound tyres and topped the timesheets with his best time of 1
minute and 21.550 seconds.
The Australian driver remained ahead of Lewis Hamilton of McLaren who set the quickest time in both the practice sessions on Friday. Additionally, Hamilton was followed by Webber’s teammate, Sebastian Vettel.
The defending champion stayed ahead of Bruno Senna of Williams who seemed quite comfortable behind the wheel of his car.
Furthermore, the Brazilian driver was followed by Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who is presently leading the drivers’ standings with 154 points ahead of Red Bull pair of drivers.
Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus came 6th in the timesheets and stayed ahead of his teammate, Romain Grosjean.
The French driver was followed by Felipe Massa of Ferrari who remained ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India. Moreover, Jenson Button of McLaren came 10th in the timesheets and stayed ahead of Pastor Maldonado of Williams.
Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber set the 12th fastest time and was followed by Jean-Eric Vergne of Toro Rosso. In addition, Nico Hulkenberg of Force India came 14th in the timesheets and remained ahead of Kobayashi’s teammate, Sergio Perez.
The Mexican driver stayed ahead of Daniel Ricciardo of Toro Rosso who was further followed by the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher of Mercedes.
The veteran German driver was followed by his teammate and compatriot, Nico Rosberg who faced little difficulties with his car’s setup.
Rosberg remained ahead of Caterham pair of drivers, Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov who were followed by Marussia drivers, Charles Pic and Timo Glock.
Over and above, HRT drivers, Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan came last in the timesheets.
Besides, the weather conditions remained dry during the last practice session and it will be thrilling to see how all the contenders come up in the qualifying at Hungaroring.
