Mark Webber undergoes his final leg surgery – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has undergone the final surgery of his leg which was broken during the Tasmania Challenge back in 2008.
During the last week, Webber underwent the final operation to get the piece of metal removed from his leg and is now feeling very much relaxed after a long time. Moreover, he is looking forward to spend some quality time with his family during the break.
“It's the final chapter and is all part of the plan - the operation was planned in April,” he said. “I've got to get a nail taken out of my leg, it's the nail in my shin bone. I'll be recovering from that and out of action for a while.”
“Home and feeling great. Last bit of metal out of my lower leg. Feeling lighter already,” he added.
It will be important to note that the Australian driver has been known as one of the most hardworking and diligent drivers in the sport. Even after his accident, he worked really hard to recover and performed tremendously well for his team.
Furthermore, he was deemed as one of the most competent title contenders during the start of this season as he scored points with impressive consistency. However, he faced some technical issues in his car due to which he failed to keep up the level of consistency
and lost some crucial points in the championship fight.
Nevertheless, he still managed to secure 6th place finish in the drivers’ championship and attained some competitive results for his team.
On the other hand, his teammate, Sebastian Vettel performed inspiringly well and successfully won his third consecutive championship title in this season.
It is to be noted that the 36-year-old has said that he is not going to play a supporting role in his team anymore and will fight his own battle in the future. Besides, he is earnestly looking forward to hit back in the next season and is aiming to claim
the championship title.
The Milton Keynes based team is targeting to make some essential developments in their car during the winter testing so as to attain good results right from the start of the coming season. Let’s see how the Aussie shows up in the next year.
